Jacqui Gately

I completed the Bachelor of Applied Science co-major in Psychophysiology and Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology in 1996. Research areas of interest for me have included circadian rhythm disorders and hemispheric laterality during sleep.

After completing the undergraduate degree at Swinburne, I ventured into secondary school teaching (not for long!), and too much work in the social welfare sector.

I recently returned to study, enrolling in the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology at Monash University. Luckily for me I discovered the Animal Welfare Science Centre and Anthrozoology Research Group under Pauleen Bennett, and I am very excited about developing a fourth year research project investigating human psychological correlates of the human-companion animal bond. I have always had a love of animals, particularly companion dogs and cats.
