Tamzin Barber

Hi there! I am currently working in the UK as a dog rehabilitator at Battersea Dogs Home. I have a great interest in animal minds and have worked with a variety of different animals, wild, captive and domestic. Most of my work has been with dolphins and whales, and it is only recently over the last four years or so that I have worked with other animals. I find that the more animals I work with the more I realise just how unique but also similar they are.

Can't say I have a favourite, although I definitely have a soft spot for cats and dolphins!

I completed my Honours Degree at University of Queensland. I investigated the interaction between wild dolphins and children and the impact this had on their attitudes towards the environment. Completed my undergrad, Bachelor of Arts at Deakin University, majoring in psychology."

Tamzin is completing her fourth year post-graduate degree in psychology part-time through distance education. Her research project is an investigation of the relationship between domestic cat behaviour and owner attitudes. The potential significance of this research lies in the possibility of improving cat welfare, through developing a better understanding of the factors that lead to the development of behavioural problems.
